PRETTY EARLY / MID 20th CENTURY FRENCH SINGLE BED
This French bed dates to the early part of the 20th century and is in very good structural condition..

The bed stands on stylized escargot feet and has a stained beech frame with a studded floral fabric. The fabric is all good but as shown in the photo's, (headboard) it could benefit from a shampooing..

The decorative moulding to the head and foot board is further complimented with the serpentine side rails which bolt in to the head and foot boards to give a very firm and secure fixing.
As with all French beds, there is no base but a wooden slatted base can be custom made for a further 45.00..

This bed will take a modern standard 3 foot single mattress and measures to the outside;

A BEAUTIFUL LATE 19th CENTURY FRENCH WALNUT NORMANDY KING SIZE BED
Dating to the late part of the 19th century, this superb French Normandy walnut king size bed is in very good condition.

Standing on turned and fluted feet, the turned and fluted corner posts have applied fretted carvings and carved capitals. The foot board has a quarter cut veneer panel with a vitruvian scroll bottom rail and a stylized rope twist top rail. To the centre there is a superb garland of carved roses. This is further complimented in the head board which has an intricately carved pediment with fine turned finials..

As shown in the photo, to the inside of the foot board there has been some repair to the veneer .

The side rails bolt in to the head and foot boards to give a very firm and secure fixing. The bed also comes with a custom made slatted base and will take a modern king size (60 inch x 78 inch) mattress.

This is a super bed which would fit well in any setting, traditional or modern.
The bed has been cleaned and polished with 3 coats of wax giving a warm patination.

A STUNNING LATE 19th CENTURY FRENCH OAK DOUBLE NORMANDY BED
This stunning 19th century French Normandy double bed is crafted in solid oak and is in excellent condition.

Standing on traditional escargot feet with moulded corner posts and carved capitals, this bed originates from the Avranches region of Lower Normandy.

Both the head and foot board has symmetrical fielded panels with hand relief carved swags of stylized leaves and flowers.

This is further complimented with beautifully carved side rails.

The side rails bolt in to the head and foot boards to give a very firm and secure fixing. As with all French beds, there is no base but a slatted base can be tailer made for an additional 55.00.

This is a super bed which would fit well in any setting, traditional or modern.

FANTASTIC 19th CENTURY FRENCH CHESTNUT DOUBLE BRETON MARRIAGE BED
This beautiful 19th century French Breton double marriage bed is crafted in chestnut and is in excellent condition.

With it's Celtic overtones, the foot board of the bed has finely carved panels depicting traditionally dressed Breton men and women. This is further complimented with the carved head board and decorative raised pediment which is typical of the Breton region. The turned and fluted corner posts are finished with carved rosettes and topped with turned finials .

The side rails bolt in to the head and foot boards to give a very firm and secure fixing. As with all French beds, there is no base but a slatted base can be tailor made for an additional 55.00.

A SUPERB FRENCH BRETON SOLID CHESTNUT MARRIAGE DOUBLE BED COMPLETE WITH NEW SLATTED BASE
This super French Breton marriage double bed is crafted in chestnut and is in very good condition.

FRENCH PAINTED SHABBY CHIC DOUBLE BED
Standing on traditional escargot feet with acanthus leaf carved knees, this super French bed has been painted with a lightly distressed antique white paint giving a shabby chic finish.
The foot board has a convex curve central panel with a rococo crest to the top rail.
The head board with it's complimentory shape has the benefit of a raised rococo shell pediment.

STUNNING FRENCH LOUIS XV ROCOCO WALNUT DOUBLE BED
Constructed in walnut, this stunning french bed is in very good condition.
Standing on escargot feet with acanthus leaf knees, the head and foot boards have decorative molding that continues along the side rails.
The foot board has a decorative carved central panel with the head board having a rococo shell carved pediment.

As with all french beds, there is no base but a slatted one can be made for 55.00

The bed easily takes a double mattress and measures; 54 inches wide, 79 inches long, 63.5 inch head board and 37 inch foot board

There has in the past been a tiny amount of insect attack to the bed and although historic, I have sprayed the bed with a 5 star 30 year treatment.
