Description
Dating to the middle of the 19th century, this super 3 piece French Cherry and Pine Louis Philippe Buffet is in very good all round condition. It stands on it's traditional scroll feet with a moulded plinth.?The base section has a single shelf to the inside which is enclosed with a pair of moulded panel doors complete with original brass escutcheons and original working lock with key. The frieze drawers are well constructed with hand cut dovetail joints, run with ease and have their original brass knobs.
The top section which is an open plate rack has 3 shelves with each one having a plate guard. This is all complimented with a traditional Louis Philippe lift off ogee moulded cornice.
This is a lovely piece of French furniture and would compliment the dining room of any home traditional or modern.
Commensurate with it's age, there has in the past been a tiny amount of insect attack to the Buffet but it has all been sprayed with a 5 star 20 year treatment..
