A FINE FRENCH CHESTNUT ARTS & CRAFTS 2 PIECE BUFFET / DRESSER

Description

Dating to the beginning of the 20th century, this super 2 piece French Arts & Crafts chestnut Buffet is in very good all round condition. It stands on tapered stub legs which extend in to the fluted corner posts.
?The base section has a single shelf to the inside which is enclosed with a pair of flat arch moulded and reeded panel doors complete with later handles and sprung catch. The frieze drawers are well constructed with hand cut dovetail joints, run with ease and have later brass handles.
The top section has a mirror panel back with glazed storage area above. This is divided in to 3 sections, each having 2 shelves to the inside. The moulded glazed doors have their original rolled glass which is all good with the exception of the left hand panel of the middle door which has a small crack across the top right hand corner. If you look closely this can be seen in the photo's. The doors also have later handles and sprung catches which match the bottom.. This is all complimented with a traditional Arts & Crafts lift off fretted cornice.
This is a lovely piece of French furniture and would compliment the dining room of any home traditional or modern.
Commensurate with it's age, there has in the past been a tiny amount of insect attack to the Buffet but it has all been sprayed with a 5 star 20 year treatment..

19 inches deep
37.5 inches high.
top is; 43.5 inches high plus pediment, 14 inches deep / 12 the over all height of the buffet is 88 inches.
