Description
Dating to the end of the 19th century, this super French pitch pine desk is in very good sturdy condition.The desk stands on geometrically moulded legs with writing slope above. The lid to the slope no longer has it's lock and lifts up to provide a good storage area to the inside, which is painted in a Chateaux Grey paint.
?Above this there is a double gallery of 6 drawers each with internal dimensions of; 11 cm wide, 14 cm long and 8 cm deep. These drawers are housed in a fine fielded and moulded cabinet with traditional ogee cornice. .
The desk has been cleaned, French polished and then given final coat of wax to give a soft inviting sheen. There has in the past been a tiny amount of historical insect attack to the desk but this is quite minimal and has been sprayed with a 20 year treatment.....
the desk measures;
35.5 inches wide, 22.75 inches deep, 30 inches to bottom edge of slope, 32 to top of slope and an over all height of 51 inches.
