Dating to the end of the 18th century, this stunning and imposing French Normandy solid oak Armoire is in good condition and will knock down flat for ease of getting it upstairs. Please note that this a very heavy piece of furniture and will require 2 people to handle it. It will be delivered disassembled but is straight forward to re assemble by a competent person....
Standing on traditional escargot feet, the armoire has paneled cheeks and a decorative plinth apron.
?The to inside there is a single shelf with drawers below. If required, included in the price I can supply 2 additional softwood shelves or a wooden horizontal hanging rail. The enclosing panel doors are of an asymmetrical design and have their original brass hinges and full height brass key escutcheons. The lock is a later addition but still has some age.
This is complimented with a traditional regional ogee cornice.
This is a lovely piece of French furniture which would compliment the bedroom of any home traditional or modern.
commensurate with it's age, there has in the past been some insect attack to the wardrobe but this has been sprayed with a 5 star 20 year treatment..
The wardrobe measures;
55 inches wide / 63 to outside of cornice
22 inches deep / 25.75 to outside of cornice / 19 inches internal
87 inches high.
