Description
Dating to the end of the 19th century and being crafted in solid pine, this stunning Hungarian display cabinet / bookcase is in very good sturdy condition and is well constructed.The inside of the cabinet has 2 shelves which are both fully adjustable up and down. This is enclosed with a glazed door complete with brass handle and working lock and key. The glass in the door is the original rolled glass and is in good order with no cracks.
Flanking the cabinet are acanthus leaf carved knees with canted corners and applied moulding.
This is all finished off with a traditional ogee cornice, turned finials and a finely carved pediment.
This is a lovely piece of Hungarian furniture and would compliment the room of any home traditional or modern.
There has in the past been some historic insect attack to the cabinet but this has been sprayed with a 5 star 20 year treatment..
The cabinet measures;

17.25 inches deep max / 13.25 internal
36.25 inches high over all.
