Description
Dating to the early mid part of the 19th century, this beautiful Louis XV style oak Buffet is in very good condition.It stands on finely carved cabriole legs and has an attractive moulded apron.
To inside there is a single shelf which is enclosed with a pair of fielded and moulded panel doors. The left hand door with it's faux dormant is held shut with it's original sprung catch while the right hand door is held shut with it's original working lock with key. Both doors also benefit from having their original key escutcheons.
The frieze drawers are constructed with hand cut dovetail joints and have their original blacksmith made drop handles.
The top is all good with the normal wear and tear that one would expect with a buffet of this age..
This is a lovely piece of French furniture and would compliment the dining room of any home traditional or modern.
As one would expect and commensurate with it's age there has in the past been a some insect attack to the buffet but although historic, it has been sprayed with a 5 star 20 year treatment.
