Description
Dating to the turn of the 20th century, this super German pine desk is in very good sturdy condition.The desk stands on square and tapered legs which are mortise and peg-tenon jointed in to the frieze rails. The desk has a central frieze drawer with original working lock and is flanked by 2 further drawers which both have their original knobs. All the drawers are all constructed with hand cut dovetail joints.. .
The top is all good with no significant marks and when the drawer is unlocked it will slide forward to reveal a secret area and 2 further secret drawers .
There has in the past been repairs to the bottom of the legs but this is all commensurate with the age of the desk.
There is a small amount of historical insect attack to the desk but this has all been sprayed with a 5 star 30 year treatment....
the table / desk measures;
45 inches wide, 35 inches deep 31 inches high / 23 to underside of rail.
