Description
Dating to the end of the 19th century, this stunning French walnut Buffet is in good all round condition.
It stands on turned bun feet with an attractive moulded apron.
To the inside there is a single shelf which is enclosed with 3 carved and moulded panel doors complete with working locks. Each one of these doors are divided by turned columns which rise up to the frieze drawers. Each of these drawers are constructed with hand cut dovetail joints and have dragooned moulded fronts. They also have their original handles and working locks with one key for all.
The top section has 2 shelves to the inside which are both adjustable up and down. This is enclosed with carved and paneled doors again with working locks. These are divided with pairs of turned columns which rise up to the traditional cornice and a gallery of turned spindles. For all 6 doors there are 5 keys plus 1 for the drawers. All the locks work though a couple are a little temperamental but I have well oiled them so they should be fine.
This is a lovely piece of French furniture and would compliment the dining room of any home traditional or modern.
Commensurate with it's age, there has in the past been some insect attack to the Buffet but it has all been sprayed with a 5 star 30 year treatment..
The Buffet measures;
base
63 inches wide
23.25 inches deep
38 inches high.
top is; 16.25 inches deep 12.5 internal, 62.25 wide to outside of cornice and the buffet has an over all height of 78.75 inches.
The cost to deliver this Buffet to England, Wales and Scotland (Glasgow to Edinburgh) is £75.00.
