Description

Dating to the late part of the 19th century, this stunning French walnut Buffet is in very good condition.
It stands on bun feet with a moulded plinth, and if required the top half will lift off..
The bottom section has a single shelf with a paneled back and is supported by 2 carved and moulded geometric columns. The frieze drawer is constructed with hand cut dovetail joints and has it's original drop handle. The marble top is good but as shown in the photo, it has had a historical repair to the corner.
The top section has carved acanthus leaf scrolled brackets which support the upper galleried shelf. This is all complimented with a further gallery of spindles and 2 carved finials..
This is a lovely piece of French furniture and would compliment the dining room / hall of any home traditional or modern.
The Buffet measures;
26 inches wide
13.75 inches deep
39.25 inches high to marble top / 56.5 inches to upper shelf and 69.25 inches over all.
