Dating to the early part of the 19th century, this stunning chestnut Buffet is in very good condition. It stands on finely carved Louis style legs with an attractive carved and moulded apron and canted corner posts. To the inside there is a single shelf which is enclosed with a super pair of carved panel doors depicting standing Partridge. The left hand door is held shut with a simple hook and eye while the right hand door closes on to and is held shut with a working lock and key. These doors also benefit from having their original solid brass hinges and escutcheon plates. The frieze drawer has further Breton carving and drop brass handles. The top is all good with no significant marks or scratches. This is a lovely piece of French furniture and would compliment the dining room of any home traditional or modern. Commensurate with it's age, there has in the past been a small amount of insect attack to the Buffet but this has been sprayed with a 5 star 30 year treatment.. The Buffet measures; 64 inches wide 24.5 inches deep 39.25 inches high. The cost to deliver this Buffet to England, Wales and Scotland (Glasgow to Edinburgh) is £75.00. (please see website for further shipping details). Alternatively you are welcome to collect from my showroom at any time.
