Description
Dating to the early 19th century, this stunning walnut and cherry French Buffet is in good condition but commensurate with it's age, it does have some insect attack all round. This is all historical but to make sure I have sprayed the whole unit with a 5 star 30 year treatment.
It stands on turned feet with an attractive moulded apron and rounded corner posts.
To the inside there is a single shelf which is enclosed with a super pair of panel doors. The left hand door with it's faux-dormant is held shut with a simple sprung hook while the right hand door closes on to and is held shut with it's original working lock and key. ( the lock does work but is a little temperamental) These doors also benefit from having their original solid hinges and escutcheon plates. The frieze drawers which are constructed with hand cut dovetail joints have their original handles and all run with ease..
The rack of the buffet with it's moulded corners has 3 shelves with a galleried front and is complimented with a traditional ogee cornice.
This is a lovely piece of French furniture and would compliment the dining room of any home traditional or modern.
The Buffet measures;
base;
53 inches wide max
22.5 inches deep
38.25 inches high
the rack is;
49.5 inches wide, 9 inches deep with an over all height of the whole buffet being 90 inches..
The cost to deliver this Buffet to England, Wales and Scotland (Glasgow to Edinburgh) is £75.00.
