Description

Standing on carved escargot feet, this French oak box settle is in very good condition and would date to the early / mid 20th century.
The settle has finely formed swept arms, fielded panels with canted corners and a moulded and carved frieze rail which is further complimented on the top rail.
There is a lock in the box seat which has been added at a later date but it doesn't have a key with it.
The settle has been polished with 3 coats of wax to give a warm and inviting patination
As shown in the photo, there has been a tiny amount of historical insect attack to the back rail of the seat. Although old, it has been sprayed with a 5 star 30 year treatment to ensure it's eradication.
the bench measure;
46.5 inches wide x 17.25 deep with a seat height of 20.5.
the over all height to top of back is 36 inches
