Dating to 1890, this stunning 2 piece stripped pine Bookcase / Dresser is in very good condition....
Standing on bracket feet, the base section of this bookcase has a single shelf to the inside which is enclosed with a pair of carved panel doors complete with brass handles and working lock. These are flanked by canted corners and 2 carved and fluted knees. The cushion drawers are constructed with hand cut dovetail joints and slide with ease.
The top section has 2 shelves to the inside and is enclosed with a pair of carved and moulded glazed doors, which again have brass drop handles and working lock. These doors also have the original period rolled glass in them. The ogee cornice further compliments this imposing bookcase..
This is a lovely piece of Victorian English furniture which would compliment the room of any home traditional or modern.
The bookcase measures;
base is; 49.5 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 37 inches high.
top is; 44 inches wide 12 inches deep and 44 inches high.
