Description
Dating to 1880 this imposing French walnut 2 piece buffet is in good all round condition.Standing on bun feet with turned and fluted corner posts, the buffet has a single shelf to the inside which is enclosed with a pair of molded panel doors complete with working lock and key. This key will also lock the frieze drawers which which have applied molding and ring handles.
The top half of the buffet has a panel back and 2 carved brackets which support the full width shelf and the carved raised pediment.
As shown in the photo and commensurate with it's age, there has in the past been some insect attack to the buffet but although historic, I have sprayed the whole unit with a 5 star 30 year treatment.
The buffet measures; 55.5 inches wide, 40.25 inches high to work top, 21.75 inches deep and 69.5 inches to top of pediment.
